Common Male Cosmetic Surgeries and Procedures
If you get cosmetic surgery, are you a girly man? For a lot of guys, just the fact that it has the word “cosmetic” in it is bad enough. But the evidence is quite the opposite: record numbers of males have joined the cosmetic surgery ranks in the last five to ten years. In 2007 American men had 1.1 million cosmetic surgery procedures! Keep in mind that there are only about 70 million males in American between the ages of 30 and 75 and probably only 20 to 30 million of those have enough disposable income to even think about a cosmetic procedure. This means that a very significant percentage of guys are undergoing various cosmetic and surgical procedures.
In fact, there’s a pretty good chance that you know someone who has partaken
recently without even realizing it.
There is no way any of us males can use the tired argument any more that “cosmetic surgery is just for women”,
because 9% of all cosmetic procedures and surgeries in America were done to males. Furthermore, the growth is
very strong among men and much higher than
among women. For example, the number of procedures amoung men grew by 17% from 2006 to 2007. It’s just a matter of time before guys occupy a serious proportion of the cosmetic surgery landscape.
Many of the other old arguments are vaporizing as well. In fact, there’s really only a few arguments left for males who are against cosmetic surgery:

- ”I want to look older – it’s more distinguished.”
- ”Guys are supposed to look like crap.”
- ”It makes a woman feel better about herself if I look terrible”.
Yes, I was joking, but a lot of guys still think in this foolish and naive sorts
of ways. In fact, the irony is that it is guys who generally need cosmetic
surgery much more than the women in their lives. Men typically do not watch
their sun exposure or diet, for example, until their cardiologist or oncologist
puts a gun to their head.
If the woman in your life could knock 5-10 years off her face, you would quietly be excited, wouldn’t you? Well, guess what? She’s no different than you. Sure, she’ll tell you that you look “better than ever” and
that you are now “rugged and masculine”, but the truth is that those are polite
code words. Many guys forget that

The good news is that guys are "repenting" in record numbers: 57% and 79% of
American men say they generally approve of cosmetic surgery and would not be
embarrassed to have cosmetic surgery, respectively (in 2007).

Males, by the way, are having both surgeries and procedures all across the board. The give most popular surgeries are liposuction, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty (nose surgery), male breast reduction (to correct “man boobs”) and hair transplantation. But
guys had 329,000 botox injections, 186,000 laser hair removals, 86,000 microdermabrasions, almost 100,000 facial rejuvenations and 39,000 chemical peels. Again, this is all becoming quite commonplace and mainstream.
So, if you're appearance isn't where it should be, consider hopping onto the
table or leaning back in the chair - the little woman might thank you for it. If
it's really just "not you", then at least consider my link on
