Title: Raging Libido and Crazy Sex Drive...
Post by: jth0524 on April 02, 2017, 12:53:27 pm
For those of you who have a raging libido and chase your significant other all over the place, can you state your current protocol and why you feel it's working so well. Thanks as always...

I think its normal for your libido to be a little variable.   Some days you might have a high sex drive, others you might not into it much.  Some weeks you might have a crazy high libido, other weeks not as much.   That is normal regardless of your T levels or whether you are on TRT or not.   What would be abnormal would be to have a low sex drive that never got any better regardless of your T levels.

Mine has almost always been high post testosterone.  I have had to tweak things from time to time:

EOD subQ cypionate
daily low dose preg and DHEA (compounded)
arimidex (low dose compounded)
HCG (250 IU twice per week)

10% T cream, take a look at my sig.

Feel the same now as I did when young. Horny all the time. The only problem is that I get really tired in the evening and fall asleep instantly, not even a thunderstorm wakes me up.

Hello PeakT,

Do you mind providing the doses you are using? Thanks!

Meh I don't know, I suppose everyone is different but, for me my libido before low T had always been stable.  If I was home, I couldn't go 3 days without masturbating, and if I was on a vacation or trip for a week or two, my libido would be raging upon return.  I've almost forgotten what that feels like...

Because you are in your 20s.   That kind of libido is not normal for any guy regardless of their T levels in their 30s and older.

I know guys in their 30s and 40s who had more libido than I ever did.  Again though, I suppose everyone is different.  I knew this 60 year old smoker guy on a construction site who couldn't stop staring at girls on the street.  Then I know this 26 year old guy from grad school who never talked about sex once.

Gotta disagree with you here.  My opinion is that a healthy libido means a healthy brain and psychology.

Peak, if you don't mind me asking, why do you dose so frequently? Do you have really low shbg?  I tried eod once for a couple weeks at only 20mg and my total levels came back at 1450ng and free t 44ng on a 6-17ng scale.

I agree with all that.   However, my point is that a healthy libido does not mean that you got a raging sex drive every day.

I agree, but would add that even if a guy isn't spontaneously wanting sex all the time he should still be easily aroused under the right circumstances, e.g. engaging in preliminaries with a receptive female. I find it's a good test of being dialed in. I can wake up thinking I have no interest in sex, but after a minute or two of foreplay it's like flipping a switch, and there's the libido that wasn't there a moment ago.

I think this is an important distinction and why the constant lamenting on these TRT forums regarding a lack of libido is difficult to respond to. I think about sex the same I did before TRT, but not as much as when I was 20. However, when initiated by my lady or when the mood strikes me, I want to have sex (4-6 times a week), but it is not my driving focus every hour or even every day. On the other hand, if we go a week without sex, I do not care either.  So, do I have low/normal/high libido? It is difficult to base it on other's desires.

However, I will say that when I was having ED prior to TRT, my libido was lower FOR ME, only because I was afraid to initiate because of performance worries.

This.  My girlfriend of six months is healthy, sex-positive, older than me, on BHRT from a doc who knows his stuff, and we have great chemistry.  And she is nearly insatiable sexually.  At the beginning it was fun but I had a bit of ED and the angst that goes with.  I started really taking NO and other markers more seriously as well as daily low dose Tadalafil.

Within two weeks not only was the ED gone but I was - and still am - able to go at it three times a day for as long as we want.  The only real limitation is the need for sleep.  Sorry for the bragging but there are success stories here. Part of the physical aspect is due to Taladafil, obviously.  But the rest of it - motivation, libido, and what Cat describes - comes from being dialed in, a good (if sometimes tumultuous) relationship, good enough emotional health (thankfully), and a mutually enjoyable shared experience.

Side note:  In another thread I mentioned having my Cu/Zn levels tested and found that the ratio was wacked.  Specifically, Cu was high and Zn was low.  I switched to a Zn-only supplement but within two weeks my libido disappeared.  Sometimes that can be a clear sign of excess zinc. I stopped zinc entirely and haven't had any problems since.

I am the same way in this regard.

For me, low libido means to be close to a receptive woman and even after certain flirting, kisses and caresses you will not have sexual desire.

That is low libido.

Mine was like that in my 30s. Libido didn't dip until around 37 or so.

I still think high libido is a general sign of a healthy brain just as an erection is a general sign of cardiovascular health.
