Title: Low T without ED
Post by: pvm21 on June 17, 2013, 07:56:59 pm
I had messaged PeakT and asked a question and he said to post it because it is a good topic that many are confused about..so here it is..

"I have one more question. In your experience with yourself and with dealing with others, how much of a factor is erections and sex for low T. Like I stated, my test levels are low 300's and I am only 22. But, for instance, two nights ago I had sex twice in a 2 hour span. Part of me was disappointed because in my head Im thinking "Ok how am I suffering so horribly with the mental side effects of low T like depression, mental fog, forgetfullness, zombiness, irritibility, but I can still get erections and have sex. Sex isnt on my mind, but then again nothing ever is except how horrible I feel. Its only when I am in the presence of it where my libido kicks in. Is this odd that I am not suffering bad from ED or impotency, yet have all the worst symptoms of Low T to the fullest? Thanks again for all your help."

I wanted pvm21 to post this here, because it points out something SO important:

When it comes to erections, as in the mechanical part of it, imo nitric oxide is more important.  (If you have venous leakage, this is another issue that usually requires testosterone to heal.)  My site appears to be focused on testosterone first and nitric oxide second, but in fact I wish it was the other way around.  Both are critical - don't get me wrong - but you can survive pretty well in the 300's if your arteries are in decent shape.  In fact, you may not even notice anything.

However, again as pvm21's post points out, testosterone strongly affects it in the libido, mood, cognition and other mental aspects.  Young guys are really affected by this.

But, again, young guys in particular can often have decent erections (and, as we've seen on other threads, lift incredible poundages) with low testosterone levels.  Happens all the time and it's because they have so much nitric oxide that they can overcome the downregulation of NOS that occurs with low testosterone.  Us older guys can't get away with that!

150?  Wow.  Well, that's got to be a record for Best Bedroom Performer with Low T!

What about morning erections?

Also, don't forget to get your estradiol pulled and if it's low for an extended period of time, I'd start asking questions about bone mass.  Also, get anemia checked and carefully watch insulin/blood sugar imo (if you can afford it of course)...
