Title: A decent article to share with a doc
Post by: Sam on January 13, 2014, 06:46:44 pm
I thought this wasnt a bad article to share with a doc who was reluctant to treat Total Testosterone below 350.

http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/746602

It also doesnt do a bad job summarizing all of the factors to consider in Low T.

Quote
Clinicians should not become too focused on specific numerical thresholds and ranges in defining TD, but instead accept that there are no clear dividing lines between normal and deficient testosterone levels in the blood. The different societies are generally in agreement that (a) TT levels >350 ng/dL do not require treatment; and (b) a trial of testosterone therapy can be considered in men with unquestionably low or borderline low testosterone levels and a consistent clinical picture of TD.[7]

Sam, I love that:

"Clinicians should not become too focused on specific numerical thresholds and ranges in defining TD, but instead accept that there are no clear dividing lines between normal and deficient testosterone levels in the blood."
