Title: POLL: What Type of HRT Are You Doing?
Post by: PeakT on August 05, 2014, 05:25:18 pm
I am seeing a big variety in what guys are doing to reverse their hypogonadism on here.  I'd like to get a quick listing of what everyone is doing for some of the newbies.  I think it would be helpful to show them all the options they have.

And, if you have time, please explain how HRT is going for you...
Title: Sam D.'s results with SottoPelle HRT...
Post by: Sam Duxbury on August 05, 2014, 06:01:52 pm
Good Day, my friends!

Quickly stated, my personal results with Testosterone HRT via the SottoPelle method are AWESUM !!
(I cannot go into the colorful details, but my lover and I have hit new high points on intimacy and physical
enjoyment. She is also on SottoPelle HRT). I am in my 4th year with SP HRT.

Details:

With due respect to Mr. PeakT's rules, , see the "Hot Topics" sub-forum for my posts, please.

Adjunct medications are:

1. Anastrozole .25 milligram once a week (usually on Thursday)

2. hCG injection (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) 250 IU sub-q every day except Sunday.

And have a list of other vitamin supplements I am taking daily or EOD.

I have had NO problems with this SottoPelle method.

No infections, no abscesses or cysts, no pellets 'popping out' of my skin, no post-procedure pain or problems. OK, some discomfort
for maybe 48 hours post-insertion. Both the doctors who have done the pellet inserts are surgeons and highly trained-up in this
SP method. They know how to use sterile-field procedures, a scalpel, and a trocar port.

Downside: Every penny of this work is paid by me 'out-of-pocket'. The US medical insurance, FDA, and the AMA do not recognize the
procedure as a..." proven, valid treatment, and in fact carries significant historical risk, and no objective patient outcomes."

That last quote is from my medical insurance service rep, when I first tried to get coverage and payment.

So, I am paying over USA$2,000 per year for the  procedures, medications, and accessories.

Would I stop doing this? Absolutely NO WAY !! I am enjoying my physical life in ways that I did not, when I was 35 years old.
(Yep, I just had my 62nd birthday last July).

OK, let's see some more contributions here.

Enjoy life !! Do something FUN this weekend !! Cheers and Best Regards - Sam D.

Yeah, the mental part of the sex is grossly underestimated imo.  A lot of us could learn a few lessons from you.  However, I do think being too cheerful might actually scare the wife.   ;D

Interesting that we have so many on cypionate!

You should do a similar poll on E2 symptoms for low and high, IMO.  Could get good data, and I'd be happy to run an chi square nonparametric analysis for ya.

You should be able to set up a poll and I think you know much better what you want.  You're the Dr. Estradiol of the board!   ;D

Also another related poll with E2, something like: IM, subq, gels, and each option is divided into two with "E2 reeled in" and "E2 not reeled in"

I have tried several of the options on the list and have been unhappy with them all, so I don't feel comfortable voting, since that would imply that I've found a protocol that works for me.

By the way, your site is great and I've been learning a lot reading through it.

Noted.  Sorry to hear about the struggles.  I'm sure the forum comes off largely pro-HRT, but that's really not the case always and many guys have had issues with it, so feel free to post your experience.  Remember:  I had to go off of HRT for a month myself!

Hi Everyone!!

Hey! I just saw that a second person added to the Poll, and he/she is using a pellet method !! Now I don't feel so alone.  :D  :D

If that person would post some details of their pellet experience, I would love to hear about it. Also, I'm sure the rest of the members
would like to know.

Cheers! Gotta go play in traffic, heading home. Y'All take care. Weekend's coming !!

Best, Sam D.

I did a cycle of pellets.  It hurt like a dirty dog.  I was limping around for five day and swore I'd never do it again.  But other guys, like yourself, love it, so congrats on the success.  I'd probably do Nebido if I wanted something longer lasting myself, but, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Hi Mr. PeakT,

Oh, wow! Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with your cycle of the pellets.

Yes, they do work for me, and work Wow-nderfully !!

But, as you have advised over and over again, here on the board, we should find that process which works for us
and stick with it. Then, tweak it to optimum performance as you get to feeling and performing better and better.

My case in point, it took almost a year to get my E2 level to a number with which my Dr and myself are happy, and
it does all the right things for my health and sexuality.

Right now, my E2 is hovering around [27 pg/mL ] with a once a week dose of .25 milligram Anastrozole. That is in
the range of 20 to 30, which has been mentioned on the forum as a probably acceptable range.

I really am looking forward to Member Kiekegardde's E2 Poll/Analysis. I shall gladly submit my data for that one.

Y'All take care, and have a FUN weekend. Rainstorms in the forecast, but I have plenty to do indoors  :D  ;),
maintenance and playtime  ;D  ;D  ;D.

Cheers! - Sam D.

Hi guys

Here is my protocol. As Peak said somewhere, "we are all different"

Test (sustenon) a mix of different testosterones    62 mgs a once a week . I inject this stuff on my thigh with a small needle, maybe half inch long. So this must be a combination of SQ and Intramuscular.I'm pretty lean in the legs.

250 IU of HGC one day  before my test on another 250 the day of my test injection.

I use Progesterone gel daily and 6 clicks of HGH

I had never got these numbers in my life. I attribute them to my diet (pom 8 oz , arugula 200grams, citrulline ,beets) because in the past I kept converting a lot of the test into estradiol or SHGB. The other thing I added is the appart from my diet is the 500 IU of HGC

Libido?..............so so.

Morning erections? .............. NO!!!! or very rare

Erections when I need them ?,............yes,but not very  hard.

I thougt that with this (more than great ) numbers I would be climbing the walls, but no.

There has to be another variable that I'm not considering.l

Anyway,here are they

Progesterone,
1.50 ng/mL                                       0.21 - 1.54

Estradiol,
26 pg/mL                                              5 - 66

Testosterone Total

* 989.5 ng/dL                               142.0 - 923.0    ;D

Testosterone Libre (free)

 * 31.0 ng/dL                                     4.0 - 30.0      ;D

Testosterone Biodisponible

* 645.0 ng/dL                                        98.0 - 590.0

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin

 23.4 nmol/L                                              11.2 - 78.1

Alb˙min

 3.8 g/dL                                                  3.0 - 5.0

I hope I'm helping in this survey and advices welcome

Would like to change my vote to cyp.

In my bumpy TRT journey, I've found that gels and creams work initially, and then the skin stops absorbing.  Clomid also works initially, but its downhill after a month or so, ending up worse than where I started.

On cyp now, with HCG and maybe anastrozole if next labs show high E2.

This is all database driven, but I'd have to go in there and tweak the underlying tables to alter your vote.  Not sure that's worth it.  But duly noted...

I have been on subq Sustanon 250 for about 18 months. I started out injecting 0.15ml EoD but, after a few months, that took my TT and FT and RBC levels above the normal range. I reduced the dose to 0.1ml EoD and, after about 3 months, those same levels dropped to just within the normal range. Even so, I can't say that this form of therapy (or any other) has made any significant impact on my severe ED. So why do I continue? Well, I suppose ensuring that my T levels are optimum is at least a reference point for experimenting with other treatments such as exercise, DHEA, Pregnenolone, prazosin, Proviron, citrulline, etc., etc., etc. The quest goes on.

It's 1.5CC and I was told 1CC was 200mg so I figure the extra CC is 100 extra mg. Tomorrow I'm going back down to 200mg per injection. I was told to go up the extra 1/2CC to see if that would kickstart me since I haven't felt anything from it yet. One of the guys advising me said go up an extra 1/2CC for about 3 weeks then back down to the regular 1CC. So I guess for the majority of the time since I started it's actually 200mg per dose.

No I haven't had any follow up labs.

You may not be feeling any positice effects because your dose of 200mg/wk could be too high for you.  That's a very large dose and the vast majority of men don't require a dose that high to replace their hormone levels.

If your dose is too high, your E2 will also be too high, so you won't feel good.  Elevated E2 causes some guys to feel worse than they did prior to TRT.

What's a hematocrit?

You can start to feel lousy if your hematocrit/RMC count/hemoglobin goes too high.  You might feel dizzy, tightness in the chest, out of breath, etc.  And, of course, it is quite dangerous as it increases the risk of stroke and other heart-related events.

What if your kid was in a swimming race in last place and you jumped in the pool and pushed (bumped) him so that he went into the lead and won the race?  When you bump a thread that is at the bottom of the forum it ends up at the top, right?

Ah,I see,

But what is the purpose of doing that. If I comment on something, what is the purpose of you putting "bump" after my comment?

I bump threads occasionally - usually Polls - that I want people to vote on over time.  If the Poll is on page 5 or 55 of the forum, no one will see it.  So I "bump" it to the first page so new guys will see it and vote.

I've been injecting 30 mg of Test Cyp IM E3.5 days for the past six months with excellent results! My blood pressure rose a little on this protocol, but so far it has come back into the normal range by using 400 mg of Magnesium Malate twice per day...  8)

You should see radio buttons next to all the choices and then a Submit Vote button below that.  Do see that?  If not, can you refresh the page?

If you don't see it, then you probably already voted.

Current protocol is Test C 2x a week and HCG EOD.  No AI,  any time I touch an AI I end up crashing my e2.

Ive yet to respond to this thread, so here goes.

I am currently on Test CYP of 38mg intramuscular every other day, with 250ui of HCG subQ also every other day. I inject the HCG on days I am not injecting Testosterone.

How am I doing? A whole lot better since switching my protocol to every other day (EOD). Sex life is back to normal, I dont have ED as I am able to rise to the occasion, just sometimes I dont have any want or need to do so. However once initiated, all the lack of want/need goes out the window! My relationships within my family have improved as I now have more tolerance for other people. That doesnt mean I no longer get irritated, I just have more control of when I do :)

Only being 1 year in to TRT I have no intentions of stopping. In fact I see things getting better as I learn more and read about experiences of others to help me along the way.

I am seeing a big variety in what guys are doing to reverse their hypogonadism on here.  I'd like to get a quick listing of what everyone is doing for some of the newbies.  I think it would be helpful to show them all the options they have.

And, if you have time, please explain how HRT is going for you...

I am a new member here. This is my first post. I have been on a TRT program for 11 months.
I changed Doctors 2 months ago after my first doctor got my TT up but also sent my E2 and prolactin thru the roof
and had no idea how to control them. Deer in headlights look when AI's and HCG was suggested.

My current protocol is 100mg/ml compounded cream daily, .125 Anastrozole EOD, 800IU's/week(400iu Monday 400iuThursday) HCG.

Drew blood Monday for my 3rd followup should know something in 10-14 days when the E2 sen test is complete.

On the how's your TRT going I am still up in the air if it is working. My natural T production was <200 ng/dL LabCorp ranges.
I was suffering from depression, anxious panic attacks, apathy, no libido, ED.
TRT has brought be up to no longer needing drugs for the panic attacks.

I have also increased my exersize and cleaned up my diet however they are a daily struggle. I pretty much have to force myself to exersize
TRT has not given me that much needed extra energy and by the mood of this post I guess you can tell TRT has not done much for my overall mood.

I have hope it is a T lvl issue and things will improve once I reach a therapeutic T lvl.

The numbers now show about 60% of the men on here doing injections of various protocols and esters.

And I think it is interesting that Clomid is as popular as transdermals and both are a distant 2nd/3rd?

Forty2,

Note that Roger made that post on 8-21-2015, so he probably isn't watching this thread.  If it helps, I  am doing SubQ at 30 mg T Cyp 2x/week, my numbers follow:

"trough" blood T level (2 hours before injection), and now I have my "peak" (5 hours after injection; although it probably went a little higher the next day).

At 30 mg 2x /week
