Title: Testosterone for Executives!
Post by: PeakT on December 04, 2012, 06:12:16 pm
Okay, this ABC article was pretty frustrating overall.  In this article, they promote just about every myth and misconception about HRT that you could possibly mention:

1.  Testosterone therapy causes liver damage.
2.  Testosterone therapy makes men aggressive.
3.  Testosterone therapy causes cancer.

Where are the studies that show this?  And #1 doesn't even make any sense!

However, imbedded in the article is the complete transformation that it has had for this executive:

"Chris Running, 57, president and CEO ... said testosterone was the fuel that kept him on top.  He said the little vial he stores in the bathroom enabled him to run four companies at once, lose 30 pounds and gain muscle, and maintain an energy and mental sharpness he hadn't felt since college."

The same guys later said that it has helped him be successful and "I would say I look more ripped than I have since I was in college.  I mean, I like looking at myself in the mirror. I look freaking awesome. If I was marketing testosterone, I would be marketing in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week and Newsweek and Forbes.  I'm completely sold. I mean I will never not do this."

So what a weird article.  It basically documents the complete transformation of this exec on HRT but then tries to compare it to a steroid user essentially.  Oh well...

[Edit: I forgot to includ the article!

Yep it's pretty frustrating. People think this is like a drug, but it's all something we are born dependent on already and it's 100% natural in our bodies. I probably have less testosterone than the people pointing the finger and yet I'm some sort of drug addict? Completely crazy.

I'm starting to feel like I can get things done now after being on the pellets for a month now. I procrastinated a lot over the last few years and it killed me at work and home.

Been there.  You cannot think straight.  It's hard to describe.  The best way I could probably describe it is that it's like when you first wake up in the morning and you cannot figure out where you are or why and you're barely motivated to care anyway...

So far my experience has been like the executives. Would not want to have to do without it! I am 59 and run a stressful restaurant and it is making all of the difference in the world.

The problem with the way this article is presented is that they make it seem like a performance enhancing substance. The only thing TRT should do is get you back to where you should be as a healthy man. It's not going to give you super-human powers. That's how my experience has been anyway. It's a lack of symptoms rather than new abilities.

Well, if you're hypogonadal, it's performance enhancing all right!  No, I know what you mean and agree about the article.  In fact, I very strongly get the impression that the authors are annoyed with the fact men are going on HRT.  Many docs are that way too.  It's almost like they are saying, "Well, you're supposed to suffer!  That's what middle and senior age is all about!  You're not supposed to be productive and youthful!"

But stop and think about the reason for that:  most adults in the last forty years have had their a#$%^ kicked by a Western Diet and lifestyle.  They limp into old age non-productive and barely surviving.  To many people it seems very socially weird to try to stay young.  It's like some of us would look at some of the gals in their 70's and 80's who have their 5th facelift and look freakish.  That's how they see a guy in his 50's, 60's, 70's that has as good or even better health and energy than they do.

Well, it really shouldn't be that way.  Again, if you look at the supercultures, you've got people in their 80's bounding up mountains and walking great distances full of energy and humor and mental clarity.  So c'mon!  Let's reset the culturally norm guys!

Yeah that's how I plan on living! The culture norm is wrong. You're not supposed to be burned out at 40! That's how my parents generation lives. They basically gave up on life when they hit 40. It's sad because my parents are in their 60's now and they're certainly not dead but they let their health go so far that it's going to be much more difficult to ever get back in shape now. Not just that but we're talking about heart disease, diabetes etc.

Just more demonization of testosterone from feminist influenced mass media. Anything male these days is evil, inadequate, stupid, a nuisance, etc..Just watch commercials now on TV if you can come out of the coma they put you in. Pay attention! Men ate routinely ridiculed by the wife and kids. The men are often also hit or slapped and this is promoted as being acceptable. Men in commercials always blow up the grill, ruin the deck, screw up repairing the table, are fat and out of shape, act like morons and get caught by the wife and then given a stupid look...It's absolutely ridiculous...Ever wonder why testosterone is the only hormone that is regarded as a controlled substance? Because it's the male hormone and it's evil. It will turn you into a monster of violence and superhuman strength.....

Strange though cuzz the article was written by guys!  (I finally included the link to the article - see above.)

You make a great point of course.  But it's interesting because I was just talking about that with a doc.  He said that it was cuzz guys have the philosophy "more is better".  He said if you give women estrogen, they will take their prescribed dosage.  But if you give guys T, when everyone's back is turned...

But good point.  Sorry to go on a diversion there...

Testosterone isn't a controlled substance in my country. It's just like any other medicine. We don't have an epidemic of people abusing it either. So I don't think that the hormone itself is the problem, it's the culture.

LOL...Feminist propaganda has no boundaries for sex. The men that believe in taking up for women regardless of what they do are what can be called "White Knights" in the men's rights movement. They are clueless as to what kind of hatred they are propagating towards men. I could show you links on youtube where these feminist groups are protesting a speaker named Warren Farrell who is one of the most even tempered soft spoken and articulate individuals in the men's rights movement , who used to be involved with women's rights but later saw the radicalism and left, . Warren Farrell is attempting to address something he feels is the boy's crisis where more men exponentially commit suicide more than females and we are not graduating college as much nor are there jobs that utilize skills inherent to men.

Look at the way these feminists are treating men who want to listen to Warren Farrell's speech at a university, look at the way these women are treating the police, look at these young guys that think they are doing a good thing by supporting these women ( white knights).. If anything just desperate guys that think these women will like them and that its the "politically correct" thing to do.

You have no idea how many of these women are involved with university policies through associations and who also get state funding for women's programs. Many of these women are trying to get state positions with their degrees as well. Mrs. Hydes by day Dr. Jeckylettes by night. Misandry is a very real thing and its perpetuation by feminism is just one of the many more nails in the coffin for marriage and its sanctity. Most men have no idea how much hatred is being thrown at them on a daily basis. They wonder why their relationships with women are so unsuccessful...If ye men here are willing to learn I will teach...

? It's not about whether steroids are safe or not! It's about the right of consenting adults to be able to do with their own body what ever they want.
