So I just finished tapering off clonazepam. Was on it for 6-7 years and tapered extremely slow. About 2 months ago I ran out of hcg. Ever since my sleep has been horrific. I watched a Nelson vergel video about how hcg mimics lh but helps create hormones down the line like progesterone etc.
Does anyone think this could be the reason for my sleep being so bad?  Sleep has never been great throughout my taper but itís almost non existent now. I have some hcg coming in about 3-4 days.  Thanks.

When was your last injection and how much?  I know if I miss an injection I get similar hot flashes and other symptoms.

It seems likely that you are still suffering from clonazepam withdrawal.  I believe insomnia is a symptom of that.  Perhaps it just takes more time for your sleep to normalize.

Very likely can be.  However I did an extremely slow liquid taper. I just canít seem to get a good rhythm of sleep in throughout the week.  Benzo withdrawal can last a few years.  I tapered for 2+ yrs off 2mg clonazepam. Thanks for the feedback

This might sound strange but you should try camping for a week to reset your circadian clock. I have included one link but there are quite a few out there. It might be worth a try if you can manage to get away.

Doesnít sound strange at all. My dad has a cabin out in the country and Iím off for 2 weeks coming up.  Thanks for chiming in.

I just finished a taper off clonazepam which was hell.  I fall asleep fine but wake up sweating mildly and wired.  I have a feeling my cortisol is spiking at the wrong time due to adrenal fatigue or something like that.  Literally sleeping less than 4 hrs a night but most nights way worse.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yeah, Timmy glad you posted this!  I have cortisol rushes in the PM all the time.  Are you on TRT, Timmy?  The Clonazepam and any other GABA agent (benzo/sleep medicine/epilepsy meds/GABA analogs) all can give withdrawal similar to what you're describing.  Another possibility could be rapid metabolizing of TRT (if you're on TRT) and that could also be causing an elevation in cortisol as the testosterone is being finished metabolized if you're like me and use testosterone in the mornings.

Do your symptoms spike with cortisol about 4-6 hours after using testosterone, if you do?  That is one sign I found out that lead me to find that I was metabolizing testosterone really fast due to my low SHBG and natural enzymes.

Great thoughts!!  I used to inject at night. Now I do it first thing in the morning  and still have rushes at night. I truly think my adrenal glands are out of whack. I appreciate your thoughts!!

I quit pristiq about 5-6 years ago.  I was on 50 mg. I was able to get it compounded into 10mg pills.  Also had a slow release coating on it just like the original med.  this made things a lot easier.

One thing I will say and maybe recommend to others is obviously feed your kids good food but also get them bloodwork done and monitor their hormones. My two boys are 10&13 and Iíve told my wife if something ever happens to me to be sure to check their hormones and other bloodwork!!

so i have some bloodwork back. my Alt is 47.  which is 1 point above the top of the range. this is a liver test according to quick google search.
then my BUN/creatinine ratio is at 24.1.  this is over 2 points the high range number.  Anyone have thoughts about this? I am just finishing up a taper off clonazepam and i take vitamins and melatonin for sleep and an occasional sleeping pill   Thanks for any feedback!!

What a great thread!!  I am tapering off clonazepam and my sleep has been horrible. I drink 3-4 cups a day and have a cup after dinner about 6pm.  As of yesterday I have cut my last cup.  Already noticed a minor improvement. I will have my last cup ny noon during the work week and maybe a bit later on the weekends.  Thanks for all the real life  experiences shared here!!

Thank you for the updates. Both have been shocking.  Both have impacted my life and I am grateful for both.

Yup.  What he said.  You will get some of the best and latest advice.  I used a urologist in ny state and they were so far off from good and decent trt protocol it was ridiculous

Defy medical can do it all over the phone. Get your blood labs done locally then consult with a dr at defy. I was very happy with dr saya at defy.

i experienced the same thing about 3 yrs ago. i guess if subq absorbs slower maybe estradiol is spread out and doesn't spike as much?? i did 50mg IM and switched to 50mg subq.  I lost 4-5 lbs without question and no other lifestyle changes.  i now do .12ml EOD subq and its been really good.
