What Is the Smallest Gauge Needle You Can Use For Intramuscular Injections?

 I'm currently using a 23 gauge needle. I'd like to use something smaller if possible and just wondering what everybody's using?

I use 27 gauge vanish point syringes. They're zero waste like insulin syringes. I use 27x1".

I tried IM one time and used a 1/2", 29 gauge needle without any problems. I was injecting less than a tenth of a milliliter; it may be less practical for larger doses.

Where do you order these? Did you have to back fill? Or does it just take a very long time to fill them?

I don't backfill, doesn't take long to draw medicine. I normally rotate from outer thighs to upper glutes and sometimes ventrogluteal.

I'm running a 29GA, 1/2" long, for shallow IM, and alternate between delts and quads.
