T cream/ gel Delivery Vehicle
« on: April 17, 2018, 10:01:19 am »
A compounding pharmacist asked if I wanted any particular T (compounded) skin delivery vehicle as there are now several new ones that increase the amount of T delivered through the skin.  I am now researching the various delivery vehicles, does anyone know what their compounded gel/cream delivery vehicle is and does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

Looks like it's going to be "Vanpen" made by PCCA.  Starting it next week (switching from SubQ).
Does anyone else use Vanpen as a topical T delivery vehicle?

Is it this stuff? "In another embodiment, the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier of the present invention includes van pen cream (cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, steric acid, gllycerol monosterate, isopropyl myristate, soya lecithin, BHT alcohol 95%, simethicone, sodium hydroxide 30% solution, polyoxyl stearate, edetate disodium 5%, purified water, urea)."

Is that something that is covered by most insurances?  Could you also describe more about how one goes about obtaining such a thing as a delivery vehicle?

Cat,
Yes, that WAS the stuff.  I did not see that ingredient list in my search, thanks.  The pharmacist said that all "creams" have a very similar ingredient list so I reluctantly switched to alcohol base.  I am not big on BHT and some of the other cream ingredients but also concerned about DHT going high with alcohol base as in past, seems like a no win situation
