"Microdosing" Anastrozole/Arimidex?
« on: August 30, 2018, 12:28:31 am »
Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives to mg doses of anastrozole/Arimidex?  I've heard some people mention anastrozole lozenges, which allow for much lower amounts.  I'm talking only needing to knock my E2 down by 5-15 mg.

Droppers or anything else like that, etc.?

Some compounding pharmacies will make any dose.

The frugal approach is be prescribed a bottle of 1 mg pills, then dissolve pills in vodka as needed and dispense with a needle-less syringe. I put one pill in 10 mL of vodka, so half a milliliter gets me my 50 microgram dose. One pill lasts over a month; the bottle will last years at this rate.

Ah, like people getting off benzos, clever.  How much of a drop in E2 do you approximate is happening with 50 mcg?

Seems like around 10-20 pg/mL.

Hello Kierkegaard, I don't want to de-rail your thread.
I'm kind of new here and wasn't quite sure how or where to post this. I just wanted to thank you for your article

Depression/anxiety/panic attacks, not libido or ED is what got me started with TRT. I also work with a clinical social worker and have my depression in remission.
Your article gave me many more avenues to investigate on my journey again thank you for sharing your knowledge.

C,

Are you able to keep the dissolved 1 mg tab in vodka and leave it in a separate place for a long time and just draw 50 ml from it as needed?

Yes. It takes a few hours for the tablet to dissolve initially, but after that it's good to go and doesn't seem to lose potency in a month or so. This works because anastrozole is soluble in ethyl alcohol up 20 mg/mL.

Yes, years ago I thought 100 mcg every other day would be a safe starting dose, but it was too much.

Ah yes the dissolving in vodka is the ultimate DIY for anastrozole microdosing. As noted, reputable compounding pharmacies can also customize microdosing of anastrozole into a capsule form. One has to expect *some* degree of inconsistency/variation from dose-to-dose whenever a liquid solution is used.
