Chrysin supplement - can I trust the company?
« on: May 23, 2013, 01:34:33 am »
I just bought Chrysin from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Chrysin-Isoflavonne-Aromatase-Inhibitor-Capsules/dp/B007WFXQ8Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369272269&sr=8-1&keywords=chrysin+surge

Now that the package arrived I went to check out the manufacturer's web site
http://www.newyouvitamins.com/
Web site sucks, to say at least.  Now I am concerned, should I proceed taking the pills?  The supplement is not FDA reviewed, and god knows what these guys put there.

I was also not able to find any respectable reviews of this company on the web.

If I need to buy new pills, fine, I will throw this one away.  I just think I am better off buying from a respected company with established reputation than form an unknown sweatshop.

Any ideas?

Agreed.

Most of the reviews on Amazon sound shill-ish to me, but that's just my opinion.

Consumer Labs is an impartial reviewer but they do not have all supplements reviewed.

Jarrow sells one that I bought at Pharmaca for like $30bucks for 30pills.

No clue how good it is, but Jarrow and Pharmaca have good reputations I think.

Life Extension Foundation also sells it I believe and they used to put it in their MiraForte product.

From what I have heard, only transdermal Chrysin is effective. But for $30 why not just try both?

Unfortunately I just got this email from my vitamin supplier:
Quote
Dear iHerb Customer,

The product you are interested in purchasing, Fountain of Youth Technologies, Doctor's Male Performance Gel, 4 oz , has been discontinued by the manufacturer, or is no longer carried by iHerb.

We apologize for this inconvenience. iHerb carries over 35,000 products, please browse our website for similar products from other reputable brands.

Sincerely,

iHerb Customer Service

They discontinued the only transdermal Chrysin they had.

CAUTION:  I have read that chrysin can negatively impact thyroid function.  You may want to do a little research:
