Clomid Not Working - HCG?
« on: August 28, 2013, 01:09:54 pm »
Hey everyone, in my previous post a few months ago I mentioned how i took a few oxycontin pills one year ago and suffered from a huge testosterone deficiency which caused a bunch of problems...weight gain depression no libido and ED. I'm age 28. After several months I finally found an endocrinologist with the help of my gf's GP (many doctors refused to help). He put me on a regimen of 25m/daily of clomid. Numbers came back a month ago, I dont feel as depressed but edgy irritable...My sleep is now back to normal (I had insomnia for almost a year) but now I sleep from midnight to 8am easily. I am making progress...but...

I still have ED and low libido, ever since I took pain pills my erections are weak, I can get it up like 90 percent hard with my girlfriend but I cannot get hard when I try to masturbate (even using porn) which is really messing with my self esteem. From age 14 to 27 I had daily morning wood (at least 5 times a week) and could masturbate 4 to 5 times a day and hold erections full as long as I want. Friends who are specialists in health sciences and my endo says "its all in your head, you are a bit overweight". I tend to disagree, I feel like opioid painkillers really messed with my system and I wanna fix it.

I don't feel like clomid is helping me get back to where I wanna be...I'm on a good exercise/clomid/healthy eating regimen which includes vigorous exercise and eating lots of fruit veggies meat and protein shakes. No alchohol at all. (I was drinking for many months after the pills due to depression from the lack of test in me)

A friend recommended asking my endo about HCG. My friend has been on very heavy steroid cycles and said his nuts were the size of raisins and hcg restored him completely. he said it basically puts your body through puberty again. i need some advice. clomid health eating and a positive attitude isn't getting me where i want to be. ever since i have had low t, i feel less happy, less on top of the world, less invincible, less dominant, less aggressive, and less goal oriented. i am a very analytical person and i know whats up with my body and mind.

PEAK T community you have been great please help me..should i get hcg myself and use it? can i use it with clomid? should i call the endo and book an appointment before my scheduled follow up date in november?

how effective is hcg with low t resulting in ed irritablility etc?

thanks guys!

i was on clomid for like 6 months. never really felt any "better" on it though it did raise T. Switched HCG 8 months ago -  HCG is stronger/ better i think. It raised T more, a and it added muscle mass. not sure it's like "going through puberty again" but maybe for a younger guy like yourself it is. You'll probably feel better on HCG than Clomid.

One of the side effects of Clomid is having a libido as if you were still hypogonadal.  It seems to have estrogenic effects on some men's brain.  This could be a significant contributor to your problem.

Check this out on HCG and see if you think this would be worth a try and discuss with your doctor:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/hcg_monotherapy

From what I have read, HCG and Clomid are not usually tried together:  there's not really much of a point.

By the way, another issue could be that Clomid has stopped working for you.  Sometimes it loses its efficacy after a few months.

We also have a lot of threads on HCG on the forum.  If you don't mind, read through those and let us know if you have other q's.

If you are on medications or have a medical condition, always check with your doctor first before making any lifestyle changes or taking new supplements.  And low testosterone is a medical condition.

Clomid will raise your T level highly like it did for me it raised mine from 622 to 944 in 6 weeks but it didnt improve my ED .
My main aim was to beat ED .( but i still havent ...i will fight it all the way)..so my advice is keep checking  your  T levels of..watch your estradiol (E2) level make sure that is in check...most people use Arimidex(anastrazole) to keep estradiaol down.....
Are you based in the UK ?
49 yrs  suffered ED/weaker erections from  24 yrs ,  used Viagra/Levitra  successfully since 1999/2003 until they suddenly stopped working 7 years ago ,after i met and fell in love with woman of my dreams . My T levels are great but ED is still  severe  ..there seem to be no known cause tried several specialists.Symptons Penile tissue shrinkage extremely poor arousal ..i guess effects of aging

I also considered HCG to help  but never went ahead with ...along the lines i was made to believe that T deficiency wasnt the cause f my ED so i started investigating other lines...check if you are potassium deficient too

im in canada, so everything is paid for by the government, i still feel normal compared to a few months ago when i felt like hell. erections with the girlfriend are semi okay but orgasms are weak and i dont feel satisfied, i cant masturbate since i cant get it hard, i have like one morning erection once every 10 days which is gone by the time i stand up (before they would last 5 mins after peeing etc)

clomid yeah, im on the fence about it, a friend said get on hcg..will it help my ed though? basically i was a hormonal powerhouse before and i wanna get back to that, and i really dont wanna go on trt

i take maca root, tribulus, long jack, and clomid 25mg/day.;

Apericubes I'm glad to hear that you're seeing some progress. I remember when you first started how hopeless it seemed, but there is a way.

I recently switched from shots to clomid. I really felt bad at first, just like I did before I started TRT. No energy, sleeping too long, moody, depressed, no confidence etc. Actually my strength was the same in the gym, but I just had no motivation or enthusiasm.
Now on the second week, there is a little flicker of aggression and I think the clomid is starting to work some more. I didn't have an experience like your friend where my testicles dried up into raisins, but I guess they became a little smaller and maybe now they're coming back a tiny bit. I can definitely feel some tingling down there which is the same thing I felt on HCG. That tingling is my signal that things are working. I think morning erections are about 50%, but not like they were on the shots.
I think the difference is that I'm on a high dose clomid and you're low dose. I'm taking 75mg/day for the first two weeks, then the next week is going to be 50mg, then 25 and hopefully eventually 12.5. Yes the side effects are pretty bad, but they've been getting easier. Somehow my brain learned to compensate so I don't get the headaches or moodiness quite so bad now. I imagine that as time goes on and the dose goes down that things will be even easier.

Sex? Well I can still have sex on clomid, but my libido isn't very high. So I don't really feel like doing it until my partner warms me up. When I was on paxil, I had the libido but I couldn't reach climax so this is kind of the opposite. I'm just trying to compensate by conserving my energy by abstaining from pornography.

Anyway it's going to take time to get your health back and the problem is that you're also aging so you're never going to be the same. I know you mentioned that you put on some weight last year so that might still be affecting your overall health. It sounds like you're on the right track with diet and exercise though.

thanks man, how is actual trt therapy ? just curious..my gf and i wanna have kids in 4 or 5 years ..and my endo said taking one shot of test undacanoate or cyp will make me sterile for a few years (possibly). do you guys know anything about bioidentical hormones? up here in canada im quite lucky all my blood work and appointments are absolutely covered by OHIP (ontario health insurance program) but i pay like 100 a month for clomids. half a pill a day.

my friend said clomid is a short term use and it loses its effectiveness after a few months, i'm on month 4. he recommended hcg and said i have nothing to lose...i miss last year when my libido was thru the roof. i felt unstoppable, i had to have sex a few times a day (mind blowing orgasms and desire) or porn a few times a day to get the juice out (haha) ..morning eretions that inhibited my ability to peefirst thing in the morning almost 5 times a week, and i feel that since i have lower t i have lower penile sensitivity.

right now i am doing better because i am understanding that i need PATIENCE..im now not drinking at all (not deprssed anymore)...i work full time and work out regularly..but i just wanna know if theres any other alternative methods to boost my T.

Actual TRT therapy is great but maybe not that much different from clomid. I think the biggest difference would be the lack of estrogenic side effects because clomid is a kind of estrogen. The down side is that TRT therapy doesn't really match your circadian rhythm. Natural testosterone is released in pulses and it changes throughout the day so you might feel more horny in the morning etc. You don't get that with the shots and it can feel a bit strange. It's hard to describe, it's just different.

I'm not sure if injections would be any cheaper for you, but at $100/month I can understand your concern.

One shot of T wouldn't make you sterile. I think I saw a chart where they measured T levels after injecting undoconate and the rebound was a nice curve. Anywhere along that curve there is still sperm, just lower levels. I haven't had my fertility tested again since I did the shots, but I can say that my balls shrank very little so I'm sure there was still some fertility there.

All I can say is that T is not the start and end to libido. It seems like after a certain point, it doesn't matter as much anymore, but you need to get to that point.

I'm one of a few guys here on HCG only to boost T. I'm also heavily into vitamin supplements, exercise and careful dieting. There's no question that HCG has worked for me. The main issue is that I'm not fully dialed in with managing Estradiol conversion. As per other posts I've written, I switched docs last month and I'm now using 0.1mg sublingual Arimidex to work on that. I don't get morning/nighttime wood all the time...however, I'm completely sexually functional and orgasm quality/penis sensitivity has improved substantially. I need some more time to perfect the treatment. I've been a little delayed due to some haggling with my HMO/insurance provider so that I can use the out of network lab for bloodwork. Also, now that I'm using the insulin type tiny needle with the new HCG that my doctor prescribed, the injection is much better. Now you literally can't feel anything each injection. Even though the prior 29 5/8 gauge wasn't horrible, this is now as good as you would hope for. (One other side note. The prior doc I was using prescribed higher doses of HCG. He also gave me a starter pack of Cialis, not only for sex but to make sure I was getting nighttime wood for penis health. I've never used PD5 medications in my life. Never had to luckily. Anyway, I tried the Cialis the first time I used HCG. However, the large initial dose of HCG...1500/iu combined with 15mg of Cialis gave me middle of the night erections that were pretty much like a freak show.  :o It was almost unnatural. I've lowered the dose of HCG substantially and only use Cialis if absolutely necessary. I believe if you can get the right T:E balance with HCG the erection will be there naturally through arousal.)
Recovering from adrenal fatigue through Paleo diet+exercise+vitamins/supplements; formerly used HCG & Clomid at various dosages

Very smart with the Cialis.  Try to not use more than a few mg if you do use it.
