Bioidentical Testosterone versus Esters
« on: August 30, 2013, 04:58:53 pm »
Thanks guys, I wake up in the middle/early morning hours of the night but they are gone by the time I stand up and stretch (last year prior to painkillers I"d have one a lot for like 5mins)..

There is light at the end of this tunnel! I feel better, still feeling a lil down about the low libido though (I was like a porn star prior)

One thing guys, a clinic I talked to online in florida gave me this recommendation about bioidentical testosterone programs and sent me this link for Canada what do you guys think?

http://www.trubalancehealthcare.com/pg/15/BHRT-Physicians-Network-Canada

Can anyone give me any insight on bioidentical hormones? why do so many people use hormones with esters in them?  have a great long weekend to all!

As far as efficacy, the body can quickly break off those esters and, as far as I know, they are considered very safe and do not accumulated in tissues, affect DNA, etc.  Talk to your doc though for the official answer.

Arent esters considered "bioidentical"  i.e cleave the ester and you have the identical molecule i.e testosterone in an exogenous form that your body naturally produces.

If I am not mistaken the whole bioidentical thing is almost a marketing thing from when HRT failed miserably for women who were taking synthetic hormones that acted on the same receptors but were slightly different molecular structures.

For all practical purposes, you're right.  But I believe that what is in the creams is usually truly bioidentical.  This is what I have been told anyway by pharmacists/docs, but have not confirmed on an authority site.  Let me know if you find out more.

I gotcha.   Because you are applying it daily you don't need the ester.

Makes sense.

That is not true.  HRT will greatly decrease fertility in almost all men.  Now, if Androgel is poorly absorbed in one's case, then perhaps not.  But that's obviously not the case you're int'd in.  If you're concerned about fertility, talk to a doc about Clomid or HCG Monotherapy with HMG if you need it.  (Armidex Monotherapy is another possibility).

You might want to lay off the Maca.  I don't know how much you are taking, but occasionally men will say that it hurts rather than helps.  (Other guys just love the stuff.)

I think it's very effective but am not currently taking it.  A number of guys writing into the forum have said the same.  But yet another poster said that he took maca and it hammered his erections and he repeated this twice with the same results.

One thing, though:  a lot of guys are taking very minimal dosages of Maca that do almost nothing.  They throw a little Maca in some capsules and I doubt these do much of anything.
