Androgel 1.62%
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:04:42 am »
I was on the forum a year ago and my testosterone was low,i went to an endocrinologist he gave me a couple of shots,i didnt react to well to them and it scared me away.i was given testosterone and dhea troches,it did restore my dhea levels however it didnt help my T levels much.The last few months i havent been taken anything,my last test has shown that my Testosterone levels are even lower.

This was my result form last year.oct 2012.
FSH   ----------------------->   21.0 U/L -     (1.5-13.0)
LH     ----------------------->   7.1   U/L   -   (2.0-10.0)
TESTOSTERONE ---------->   7.8  NMOL/L  (9.5-28.0)
SHBG  ---------------------->   19  NMOL/L   (15-50)
FREE ANDROGEN INDEX ->  41.1%          (15-100)

Cholesterol   6.0nmol/l  (3.9-5.5)
Triglycerides  3.4nmol/l  (0.5-1.7)
HDL Chol.      0.8nmol/l  (0.8-1.5)
LDL Chol.       3.6nmol/l  (1.7-3.5)

my current testosterone levels are now lower 6.3 nmol/L. I am so sick all the time,i have testicle pain,arthritis pain especially in my hands,i am fatigued,irritable,anxious,stressed,bloated.i feel like an old man.I seem depressed all the time.This year I havent cried as much as i have in my entire life,i just cant hide my emotions anymore,Nothing seems to work my mind is gone,i have toxic feelings of being unwell.my health has continued to deteriorate,i have been so close to committing suicide this year.Im just tired of it all.

I want to try testosterone therapy again,but i hate doctors,they are morons,they have no empathy and no understanding,i just moved to a new area and my new doctor had to look through a book for information.The specialists seem bad as well,they seem to see the worst of the worst of patients and consider my problem not to be that bad.
I was reading about different treatments,i wanted a treatment to mimic the natural function of testosterone,i notice that androgel 1.62% seems to do this,i want the testosterone to be highest earlier in the day and wane towards the end of the day.Australia doesnt seem to supply this product,do you think it ok to order it online and get my doctor to monitor my levels,or should i see an endocrinologist?

i found this video online,please tell me what you think of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXHQ7uSCxZo

i am really desperate,i need some help,i dont know what to do.the whole process is such a long one.Is there any risks involved in just ordering this product,i want to slowly accustom my brain to the increase of testosterone,i think the previous injections had a strong reaction what do you think?sorry for the random post,its hard to think clearly when nothing is working.

One important question does androgel replace my testosterone or does it supplement it?will my production decrease with usage?

androgel 1.62%I used two pump daily. my T count was 130 four years ago and now it's at 700. it helped my mental stress. This is what it does for me I stop crying worrying and I could figure out problems. It took about two weeks then I started seeing results four years ago and I'm going to the doctor Friday for my results of the blood test last week. Will let you know what's going on.

If you don't like the Dr. get another one. You have came to the right place Peak t will see your message and you will start to get a lot of information he has a book and a website go look at it. It will help you out tremendously

good luck on getting healthy

First of all and most importantly:  you need to talk to a pro about the depression.  Don't mess with that.  I've been what I am sure was clinically depressed (back in college) and it was the most miserable thing in my life.  Just awful.

And I struggled with dysthmia ("mild depression") throughout almost all of my adult life.  You've got to do what you can do to get over it as depression will only make your low T worse and can actually hammer the brain:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/testosterone_depression

I have a lot of ideas for naturally improving depression here, but you should still talk to an expert as well:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/depression_cures

Now let me say something else just as important:  low testosterone will very often make depression worse or even cause depression.  So it is possible that if you treated your low T, it would mostly go away.  This happened with me.  When my testosterone got above about 600, I noticed dramatic improvements in this area.  And when I just on injections, the dysthmia all but vanished.

There are no promises though.  We had one guy who went on HRT and just LOVED it.  He felt fantastic.  However, the tried to quit his SSRI and had to go back on it.  Our bodies and brains are very complex, so this is going to be a medium project more than likely and not a short term project.

Now another very important comment and then I have to go:

It sound like you are experiencing a lot of symptoms of someone with low estradiol.  Remember:  your estradiol, essential for bone maintenance, is made from testosterone.  So, if your T lowers, it is very likely that your estradiol (E2) will lower.  For this reason, it is VERY common for men with with low testosterone to have osteopenia and osteoporosis.

I don't know why, but a lot of docs don't check for this and it's a shame, because this could really hurt a man if it goes on long enough.

I only answered a few of your questions, so feel free to hit me up again.  And hang in there!

Also, can you describe what happened when you went on HRT and why you felt it was a bad experience?  Can you also describe the protocol in more detail, i.e. what type/dose of T they gave you and when you felt bad?

Thanks for the replies,i would love to try androgel 1.62%,however it is not available in my country.Though, i can buy it illegally on the net.I might try axiron.Im thinking the gels mimic the natural function of T and are not as strong ,so i can start rebuilding my T without any adverse effects to my brain.
Do the gels supplement my testosterone or replace it?
Are there better gels than Axiron?

A lot of guys don't absorb Androgel and I was one of them:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/Testosterone_Androgel

Testim is quite expensive so few guys use it.

My impression is that Axiron is a little more reliable as is Fortesta.  But talk to a good doc about that.

Now one more thing.  Some people are concerned, actually, with the safety of the topicals such as Axiron and Androgel.  I discuss that here:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/Testosterone_Risks

Do a search on Axiron above and you'll up some threads on it.  Here is a little info as well:

Here is one user's positive experience with it:

Thanks Peak,you have been so helpful and your site is amazing.
I still cant find any information if these gels are a replacement or an add on to our testosterone?will they interfer with my natural production.
is Testim better,cause we have a good government subsidy here.
ty
:D

If you absorb them and they work, they will shut down your production somewhat.  It will almost always, again assuming your testosterone is increased, lower your fertility.

It can lead to testicular shrinkage.  However, my experience is that you don't usually get much shrinkage from the topicals because typically they boost your testosterone only into the 500-800 range.  Now injections usually take you significantly higher and your average T may be around 900 to 1000.  This is when, for example, I noticed some shrinkage.  (I'm on HCG as well now and that cleared that right up!)

My impression is that Testim is no better absorbed, but that's based on a few negative comments in the forum here and that's not really fair.  The studies indicate that Testim might have a little better delivery system:

Hobo:

One more comment.  I noticed that your cholesterol is above range and your triglycerides are twice above range.  I didn't do the conversion to the standard "American" units, but I really encourage you to research the above or you'll end up like me and half the guys on this board.

I managed to clear out my arteries somehow with a Low Fat Diet, but it's better to keep those arteries nice and clean.  Once they fill up with plaque, they can't pump out the nitric oxide that you need for reduced blood pressure and erections.

I'm mentioning it because HRT can only help you so much unless you have solid endothelial function.
