And I want to ask if you have tried Retin-A?  Anecdotally, I know several people who have great success with it.  You'll need to get a prescription for it, but may be worth a try if you haven't already.

One comment from the Way Back Machine:

I knew a guy in college who had very severe (scarring) acne.  He went on a ultrahealthy diet, i.e. fruits/veges/juices I believe.  He was utterly shocked:  it completely cleared up his acne.  Unfortunately, something he was doing irritated (or perhaps shocked) his colon because got diarrhea along with it. 

He ended up quitting the diet, but his comment was:  that's the only thing that has ever worked for me.  So I've always wondered if there is a dietary fix to it, but that's out of my league...
