Venous Leakage
« on: November 18, 2011, 10:04:54 pm »
First and foremost I would like to thank you for introducing us such a useful and informative web site. I have impotence problem for a long time. The main issue about me is that I can have an erection but can not maintain it; it ends within seconds. My doctor diagnosed venous leak in my penis which means that blood escapes from my veins as soon as it fills them.

So far I have tried many herbal products to gain normal erection but almost all of them failed. For instance I have tried L-Arginine, Pycnogenol, Ginkgo Biloba, Korean Ginseng, Horny Goat Weed, Maca and Fish Oil but as you stated in your site, all of them just aided in Nitric Oxide level; they allowed more blood to flow in the penis but they did not help the blood to stay in there as blood escaped from the veins.

Recently I used a herbal pill that is a combination of Gotu Kola, Horse Chestnut, Butcher's Broom and Hesperidin with another product called Vitamin Ester-C as I have heard that Gotu Kola and Horse Chestnut is used for varicose veins in legs and Ester-C is useful in vein repair. But after a week of use, I started to have casual and random erections; I mean while having a rest, watching TV or even walking.

So I quit using those pills. I am now eating seeded grape as I heard that grape seed has a vein repairing function. I will also start pomegranate juice soon as it might boost my erections.

Shortly I will be so glad if someone can suggest me any herbs, vitamins or anything that have vein repairing function because my main problem is maintaining erection, not having it. I mean I need a remedy that is not mainly oriented in Nitric Oxide but vein repairing.

Interesting story about what worked and what didn't.

Also, make sure it's "venous leakage", which has a little different meaning usually from what you are talking about.  You seem to be talking about venous insufficiency.  If it is venous leakage, sometimes supplementary testosterone will help depending on your situation.  Talk with your physician.

Don't have much knowledge on your ailment.  All I know is don't give up your pursuit.  Get yourself to a top urologist who specializes in male erectile dysfunction.  There is so much that can you can do but you have to be patient and keep trying.

That actually sounds pretty cool to me!  What's the name of that herbal pill?

I know you're mostly joking, but look at the study below:

The doctors were barely able to get rid of this man's priapism and that is probably the end of his sex life:

http://www.nature.com/ijir/journal/v17/n5/full/3901348a.html

There's no telling what they put in these "proprietary" concoctions.  You can still buy it on Amazon, but why risk life and limb? (No pun intended...)

Judging by the amount of times this post has been read I have a funny feeling that there are a lot of people with venous leakage or insufficiency who are not posting their problems!..major problem it seems!

My urologist said it's a major issue for most 40+ year olds with ED usually.  What's interesting is I don't think they know how much testosterone can help.  Their solution was Cialis...

Yeah but we all know that Cialis is the quick temp fix for some. Start taking that regular and the old tolerance issues will start and then when you stop it you will end up unable to get any life into the old fella at all.

NO boosts won't help either because an increase of blood in = an increase of blood out in the case of venous leakage.

Kegels?..might help a bit to strengthen base muscles and help seal veins shut.

As you say an increase in T seems to be a partial solution but as we know by the posts on here of dudes with T of 800 + can still have the same problems... it simply doesnt work for all.

Dear Arvel,

Would you please tell me what brand of ester C did you use with the leg veins supplement?

I think I may have found the herbal supplement with gotu kola, horse chestnut, butcher's broom and hesperidin, Vein Essentials.  The company is Adaptogen Research Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements.  Is this the supplement?  Thank you very much for your help and information.

This is a great topic for me... I have venous insufficiency in my left leg... The result of an accident 31 years ago.  5 knee surgeries; the last one a total knee replacement.

I wear a support stocking to my groin to help with the swelling...

Has anyone had any success with any of these supplements helping with vascular improvement?

Thanks,

Can_man

Venous insuffiiciency is really a different issue than venous leakage.  The two may have some overlapping root causes, but it's not a one-to-one comparison.

Grape seed extract (and I would guess Pycnogenol) have been shown to help with venous insufficiency.  I am actually going to post on this separately as there is an interesting idea out there I think.

A man with intractable venous leak -- and many cases of venous leak really are intractable -- can get relief from penile implant surgery.  I know, it's not what any of us grew up wanting, but there are a lot of men out there who have been extremely happy with the results -- most men who get them, in fact.  There are risks and drawbacks, but for the guys who get them and are happy with them, the biggest regret seems to be not having gotten it done ten years or more earlier.

It's worth trying every option before going with the nuclear one -- but always remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Implant surgery is the worst case scenario (besides just not doing anything about the problem for the rest of your life), and in the end -- it doesn't seem to be all that bad.

Go over to www.franktalk.org and see what the guys there have to say.  I pop in every now and then to remind myself that at least one of my health issues will eventually "get better".

43 years old
5'7", was 220 pounds when trouble started, now down to 165
Trouble began with abrupt ED Early May '15
Initial T level 130
Started Clomid in hopes of rebooting system June '15
Currently taking 25 mg eod and .25 mg Arimidex every 4 days
T level 480 or so at last reading
ED in check with 2.5 mg Cialis eod and supplements:
POM juice, L-Cit, Pycnogenol

Morning anxiety currently in check with GABA taken every night

Biggest current worry is heart health:
Aortic stenosis (very mild for now)
CAC score 156(!) at age 42
Lp(a) is a shockingly bad 390 nmol/L -- TRIPLE the "extremely high risk" level!
Homozygous for the bad "G" variant of SNP rs10455872, which increases Lp(a) as well as odds for aortic stenosis and coronary artery lesions.
I think I know what trashed my heart...

40 mg Crestor and baby aspirin every day
CoQ-10, Vitamin K2, and Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract every day too
Walking 10,000 steps a day
