Yes, I had a blood test 2 weeks after starting on 2 pumps of Androgel which came in  at 218 . My prior T was around 180 a week before starting the gel. In regards to my herniated disc (lower back) the doctor said it would help with my bone strength and building muscle around my core to protect my back from future injuries or disc inflammations.

I currently don't take any pain bills or muscle relaxers with the exception of propranolol for times when I need to give a big presentation at work..which is around 2x a month. I'm also on 15mg of celexa but am slowly tapering off.

Okay.  Makes sense.  Of course, that boost in testosterone isn't going to help you build muscle or boost bone strength, but his concept is correct.

All SSRI's can lead to erectile dysfunction and/or loss of libido in sensitive men as you probably know.  So this is another issue to potentially discuss with your doctor.  Sometimes you can switch medications or try alternative therapies, etc.  Discuss with him/her.

If you are on medications or have a medical condition, always check with your doctor first before making any lifestyle changes or taking new supplements.  And low testosterone is a medical condition.
