Okay, this is a bizarre story, but it has REALLY helped me, so I guess I'll share it.  I have long known that I sleep horribly on my back and I have even woken sometimes with stopped breathing/choking.  Almost every morning I wake up feeling unrefreshed.  Sleeping on my back is also hard on my lower back - as I've mentioned, I have some lower back problems.  I also snore sometimes on my back, etc.

But I was unsure how to keep myself off of my back.  I think someone on the forum had something rigged up with tennis balls on his back, so when he slept on his back it would wake him up.  I told my wife that story and she said, "Why would you do something painful?!?"  She then suggested that I just strap a big pillow on my back with a belt.

I thought about that a little bit and went to Target and bought a couple of big men's belts and that's exactly what I have done the last couple of nights.  Basically, I use two belts and strap a good size pillow on my back, so that there is so real way for me to roll onto my back.  It would be the equivalent of a turtle rolling onto it's back.   ;D

So it's not very sexy and I feel like Quasimodo, but man have I slept great!!  Oh yeah - I am a new PeakT!!

The moral of the story?  Do what you gotta do to get good sleep even if you feel like a leper or a girly man.  Strap on these CPAPs!  Put on those eye masks!

No, seriously, a lot of guys resort to toxic pharmaceuticals - in my opinion Ambien fits in this category - and I wonder how often they could help themselves with just a little homemade ingenuity.

Also, just when you think you've made all the health improvements you can make, you realize you're actually just starting!  Seriously, diet, certain foods, HRT, exercise - all of these have been quantum leaps for me as I've improved my health.  Now I've got to work on sleep I guess...

After a deadlift workout, I can't imagine sleeping on anything but my back. It feels like an iron anchor that's flat as a pancake at that point.

Hey, not everyone has issues with sleeping on their back.  But remember:  I got a couple of decades on you and things are sagging a lot more!

And, as an update, this has been a HUGE help for me.  It feels really embarrassing to be honest, but I feel so much better that I don't see myself ever stopping unless I find some kind of less visibly obvious approach.  I was actually going to get a sleep study, but I decided against it since I seem to be doing so well.

Well it seems reasonable enough anyway. I'll keep that in mind for when things start sagging in a few decades.

By the way, what's the best sleeping position? I did hear about Alexander principle where for example you put a pillow between your legs to stop muscle tension but before your post I didn't ponder on the correct sleeping position -though I know (or know I?) one shouldn't sleep on the belly.
You have to question even your deepest convictions from time to time.

Well, I've never studied that.  If you find anything general out, let me know.  Again, I just sleep much more soundly on my sides and also do not snore.
