HCG Significantly Contributing to My Losing Weight?
« on: May 10, 2014, 04:43:15 pm »
So I've been on TRT for about 5 months (weekly cyp injections) and as part of the protocol I am on two months of HCG followed by a one month break.  During the first two months I had sublingual HCG and didn't really notice any body composition changes.  After the break, I have been on subq HCG shots and over the past month I have seen a significant decrease in body fat (the scale says about 2-3 lbs) but I can really notice it via improved vascularity in my arms and some reduction in love handles.  The exercise routine hasn't changed and my diet is pretty much the same as it has been since I started TRT.

I know that HCG is used in several diet protocols but I'm curious if others have noticed similar effects on subq HCG as part of their TRT?

I'm not saying that couldn't be true - there's a lot we don't know - but the HCG part of the "HCG Diet" has pretty much been discredited:

One other reason I kind of doubt it is that the dosage typically done is pretty small on HRT.  What is your dosage and frequency?

One last thing:  testosterone will help you lose weight.  It's a modest effect but has been shown in many studies.

I'm getting 1000IU/week via subq injection.  As far as the HCG diet goes, I'm on the fence with this one.  I have two immediate family members who have done very well with it.  Now I know that the massive caloric restriction is the most likely reason for the weight loss, but the piece that they say really matters with HCG is the appetite control.  Without that piece I know for sure that neither one of them would be able to tolerate such a low caloric intake.
