Clomid/Nolvadex dosage
« on: May 05, 2012, 04:35:25 am »
I'm supposed to see my Dr. in 10 days. He originally diagnosed me with secondary hypogonadism and had prescribed Clomid but I never tried it. This time I want to but I'm concerned about the side effects and dosage. Last time he wanted to try 25mg everyday for 1 or 2 months so I wanted to know if that's too much or too frequent. Should it only be a few days a week? It sounds like less is more with Clomid. I'm afraid of eye problems like blindness or eye floaters too. I know I have to try something, I'm sick of feeling like this.

Nolvadex sounds safer from what I've read so maybe I can try that. Also, I'm curious how my estrogen will be affected. My Estradiol was 22.7 pg/ml from my most recent blood test.

Ask you doc, but I think the eye thing is quite rare.  However, I do understand concern about side effects.  What kind of doc are you seeing if you don't mind me asking?  Also, how old are you again?

If you are on medications or have a medical condition, always check with your doctor first before making any lifestyle changes or taking new supplements.  And low testosterone is a medical condition.

standard dosage is either 25mg every day or 50mg every other day. Doc has had me on 50mg every other day for 5 weeks, and i see zero side effects. Why don't you just start with whatever your doctor prescribes, and see how it goes? If something starts to concern you, stop.

the eye thing is extremely rare.

My doc is a urologist. I'm 23. Starry, has it helped raise your testosterone?

ok, so i'll post this in my other thread as well regarding all my issues :)...but here goes:

yep, seems like i "passed" the Clomid challenge. February i had a reading of total T at 270 ng/dl. Today's results, after 5 1/2 weeks on Clomid:

627 ng/dl!!

wow, so that was really good news...i'll put my other panel results on my other thread, but wanted to put this in for you nysportsman - Clomid really can (and does) - at least in my case - raise T levels significantly.
