Few questions HCG and Primary vs Secondary
« on: October 25, 2014, 03:51:34 pm »
Hello all,

I am wondering if it is still possible to determine if you are primary or secondary after TRT has already been started?

How important is it to determine primary vs secondary if you are already committed to TRT?

If you add HGC to a TRT program will it require more AI than Test alone?

Thanks!!

Once you've started TRT it's not possible to determine primary vs. Secondary via blood test.

Adding hCG may not require the use of an AI.  If you needed one prior to hCG then you'll probably still need one.

Most protocols can be worked so that an AI is not needed at all.  What is your current protocol?

If you are on medications or have a medical condition, always check with your doctor first before making any lifestyle changes or taking new supplements.  And low testosterone is a medical condition.

Here is a study that shows, among other things, that guys who are primary usually have very high levels of LH and FSH.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.2164/jandrol.05140/full

It also show that when these guys were treated with TRT their LH and FSH levels were still quite high. So this means that if you have been on TRT a while, and you haven't driven your T levels too high, you should still have significant levels of LH and FSH that can be measured.

Of course if your LH and FSH levels come back near zero and your T level is very high, then you still don't know if your primary or secondary.
