Hey guys,

Would going off T force my DHEA to increase?  My latest test showed that it went up about 100 points.  Also my triglycerides jumped from 70 to 101.  Nothing has changed in my diet.

But after being off Test for 9 days my T level was 372, and E2 was around 9.... I injected last friday and feel far better today.  Any thoughts?  I wonder if I just have naturally high DHEA, and maybe trt was lowing it to the upper 500s, but without TRT its just naturally high.

BTW this is Dallas101346.  Also my BUN was high.  Keep in mind that I have been taking C4 as an energy supplement, which does have a lot of Niacin, and might boost NO2.   My NO levels according to the berkley strips was VERY HIGH.

20% increase, eh?

This is a verfication of what Dr. Crisler has been saying - at least from what I have heard - that DHEA is decreased somewhat by HRT.  Thx for the numbers.

The triglycerides kind of makes sense I guess due to the fact that HRT lowers insulin resistance...

I don't need to tell you that that is not good.  You know about potential bone loss right?

Just wanted to point out that in April, before TRT  I had a LDL of 112, this month(even after a 9 day break from T) my LDL was 83.  My HDL did drop 3 points but apparently TRT helped slash my HDL.

Also, my cholesterol pre TRT was 174, now it is 140.  Again no changes to bodyweight etc.

Hmmm.  Shouldn't go up.  Your sure you're not getting more saturated fat.

This is interesting. This is an excerpt from your footnote (6) article referenced:

"...as estradiol can raise HDL-C levels in men [7], and coadministration of intramuscular testosterone with an aromatase inhibitor led to significant decreases in HDL-C ."

I didn't know about this relationship of estradiol to HDL. But the relevant point made, nevertheless, was that HDL was affected through oral methods of delivery (due to the first pass processing through the liver).

Testosterone is famous for improving insulin sensitivity and preventing and in many cases reversing adult onset diabetes and met-s.  So sorry to be skeptical that the above had anything to do with TRT.  Seriously, the best argument that can be made for low T guys to raise their T is probably in the area of glucose and insulin control:
