Question about refilling a prescription
« on: June 10, 2015, 07:27:37 pm »
This is just a general prescription question (I haven't needed to use a medication on prescription until recently).  I've got a valid Rx for 10ml of 200mg/ml Test-Cyp, to be taken at 200mg E14D.  This is a five month supply, at that dosage.  My endo issued a new Rx today for 150mg E7D, so basically 50% more dosage (the large increase is a different matter entirely, but not relevant to this thread directly).  Do I wait for my existing 10ml vial to run out before refilling under the new Rx, or do I make the trip to pharmacy this week and hand over the new script, even though I have enough medication on hand for another 3 months?  Would the Rx expire if not filled immediately?

Just call the pharmacy and they will let you know how long an Rx. is valid for.  From there, you can make your decision...
