Does HCG Sometimes Cause More Issues Than Benefits?
« on: February 26, 2015, 10:42:00 pm »
[MODERATOR SPLIT FROM HERE: http://www.peaktestosterone.com/forum/index.php?topic=6611.30.]

In theory, HCG added to TRT is a great idea.  Especially for any younger guys who still want to have children (myself included).  However, anytime I add hcg, it triggers so many other mechanisms in the body that the roller coaster ride begins.

I'm going back to basics and getting my TRT dose dialed in without hcg and see where my e2, preg, prog, dhea is after a month.

Keep in mind hcg increaes the conversion of CHOL to Preg, and then everything else down the line.  This is a big line that is being changed and could trigger a multitude of symptoms.

Just saying, HCG could be doing more harm than help.

GREAT post!

From my personal experience, I felt the best I've ever felt using 100 mg week of Test Cyp with 750 IUs of hCG.  One thing I do wonder is what kind of long term impact do you get from pituitary suppression and nearly nonexistent LH/FSH levels?

That's the million dollar question.  I don't know of any issues, but it sure makes you wonder...

FWIW I experimented with an increase of HcG from 250iu to 400iu on the same EOD schedule and I don't think it did a thing that I could tell, certainly didn't affect my mild to moderate ED and in fact, I think my bothersome back-ne flared when I was doing that for ~4 weeks. I since returned to 250iu figuring I was just wasting my HcG supply. 4 weeks later the back-ne persists. related or not, never did any testing just set-of-the-pants trials.

I think that's smart.  I like the philosophy of going as low as possible myself.

This is a great post. I asked my anti-aging doctor about HCG mono. That doctor wasn't a fan because they belived finding and maintaining the balance can be very difficult. Test + HCG was an option though.
