My last few blood draws involving free T have led to my SHBG being about 20 points lower than when they were IM (I'm currently subq). Which makes me wonder what could cause the drop.
Well, if subq involves vastly lower (approximately 40-50%) estradiol levels, and estradiol increases SHBG, then going subq will mean a good chunk of subq going lower as well, given higher levels of free T subq that were otherwise lowered IM because estradiol was higher. Only for those folks who have higher estradiol levels IM, presumably.
If this is true, then you might watch out for how much more powerful, how much more bang for the same buck, a person can get subq compared to IM, given his higher level of free T. Which makes me wonder if the IM to subq transition is also responsible for the 20% lower dose of cypionate that a lot of guys experience when making this transition. Lower E2 --> higher free T --> lower dose for same effect as IM.
Just a thought.
