I have no idea where to put this Peak, so you may have to move it.

My wife has a rare disease called dercums. There is no treatment. We were told of an experimental treatment. The doctor liposuctions a small amount of fat and then they harvest the adult stem cells in the fat. For my wife they are returned via a IV. After 2 weeks she is getting much better. The Doctor said it will take 6 weeks to see total results.

I spoke with the Doctor and they are having great results in many areas. Parkinsons, joint and breast tissue regeneration. This is all new and was surprisingly under 10K.

I think  medicine is changing before our eyes!

Congrats!  And, yes, it is.

So what's the theory here?  Why does your doc think that stems cells will help her condition?  I'm asking, because it doesn't seem like they have any idea what causes it, right?

Can I ask what kind of a physician did this?

it was a plastic surgeon. The stem cells go to where they are needed he said. So it should work for a variety of conditions. She is definitely better. She could not tolerate any heat before. Now she can.

I used to work in  stem cell  transplants for cancer. We saw this to a small degree, such as liver repair after a transplant. The breakthrough per the MD, is that fat is loaded with stem cells.

So, you literally just put the stem cells in an IV and drip them into the plasma?  Any references for this?

There are several links on a google search. I can say she is better, not cured. They did say they have seen more improvement with a second procedure. Here are some links

Amazing. My mom has this condition. Would you mind telling me where your doc is located.  My mother has been unable to get relief from her current doc's suggestions

Sure. I am not surprised. We could not find a single ( I mean single Doctor) in the western half the country. In fact, the only real help we have had, was from a vascular surgeon. He just happened to see my wife. He really has nothing to do with her care. However, he has researched and called other Doctors to help.  The guy is a beacon of light, as I have lost faith in the medical community ( I work in it).

The place is at this link http://www.innovativecosmeticsurgery.com/doctor-todd-malan/ Pm me with any questions about it or the disease.

I have Dercums disease and am desperately looking for a way to slow down the progression.  Where is your wife getting stem cell treatments? Is she still seeing progress? I will pay anything to get help. Can you give me a rough idea of what treatments cost?  Thank you.  This gives me a lot of hope.

It was about 5K.  She has had modest improvement, but she is also trying to get off fentanyl, so that may be making it seem less effective  The tumors are smaller, esp in the breasts. They said she could have more treatements if needed. http://www.mystemcelltherapy.com/
