Can Progesterone Combat Estradiol in Men?
« on: August 14, 2015, 11:33:54 am »
I've read a few places that progesterone can combat e2. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes Progesterone will lower E2 via conversion to Pregnenolone, and it will also lower DHT too. I see some guys going as high as 50mg daily of Progesterone supplementation on TRT; however I don't think it's necessary to take over 15-25mg daily.

I'm not really sure how I can elaborate more. It's know that Progesterone is a mild aromatase inhibitor. Since Progesterone converts directly to Pregnenolone, which is a known 5-Ar inhibitor. Progesterone won't work nearly as well as an aromatase inhibitor like Anastrozole, or a supp like DIM/I3C, and I wouldn't use it for that purpose either, but Progesterone will conservativily lower E2 levels.

Okay, I have to look up the pathway chart.  Preg is at the top, so I didn't remember that prog could get fed back upstream.

I'd say even that may be over the top and cause accumulation if applied as a cream.

Deaglan:

Hey, I'm not seeing any feedback from progesterone back up to pregnenalone.  Any chance you were confusing the two?
