Having the pellets implanted in a couple days. 50yo male here with T levels around 320. What can I expect? This is the first type of testosterone treatment I have tried. Kind of nervous.
I had the pellets. This was my experience.
For a good week or so, your butt will be sore. I mean, sore to the point where it is "difficult" (not impossible) to get up and down sitting in a chair, get in and out of bed, get in and out of your car, stuff like that. (You attempt to shift around while keeping your legs straight/stiff so as not to bend and aggravate the injection site.) After about a week or so, that is gone.
My pellets lasted a long, long time. I think they were "supposed to" last 6 months. And I got about 18 months out of them. Which was incredible.
You also get a little scar on your butt, which I was not crazy about. But, what can you do? I did not mind one scar, but I was not willing to get two, three, four, five scars, etc., with each repeated procedure. They have to "move" the site of pellet injection with each subsequent procedure.
At the end of the day, I decided that the advantages did not out-weigh the disadvantages, so I stopped pellets and I went with another method.
Good luck.
Let me know if any further questions!
Question for you: why did you (or your doctor) decide to start with pellets as your first exposure to TRT? Usually, people start with a much less invasive method.
