For me it is that I am not motivated enough to do both.
Well A) it still comes down to calories, so if you can eat enough to gain muscle, and do cardio... then do it.B) Neither of those 2 cyclists has any upper body mass to speak of, but they do have massive legs haha

True but gymnast are genetic freaks, they also focus on high intensity cardio, not things like marathons etc.
